New Beginnings

The one good thing about school starting is getting back into a routine. It is also a good time to start some new routines. The kids are enjoying the new school year so far and I think they like being back on a schedule. I finally have Logan and Brooklyn on the same nap schedule so at least I get some time to myself. They are also becoming great buddies but Logan still ask for "his Hannah" a hundreds times a day. I thought I would just jump in with both feet in this new beginnings thing and try to potty train Logan. But after 2 days of trying I gave up and he was more than happy to have a diaper back on. I'll give it another shot in a couple of months when he is not so traumatized over losing Hannah during the day. I have also decided it is time to get my butt in shape and boy is it out of shape, cardio is killing me. I wish I could say I love my treadmill and it makes me feel great to exercise but it doesn't. Hopefully it will become more bearable overtime. This is also the time I grab one of my favorite all time books to read. If you have never read "Mitten Strings for God" this is definitely a must read. It is about living in the moment and focusing on whats important. I love this book, I usually read it a couple times a year or when ever I am feeling overwhelmed. I also have caught the decorating bug. Last year when we bought our house I was right in the middle of morning sickness and decorating was the last thing on my mind. It was all I could do to get Taylor's room finished in the basement and find a landscaper to put a retaining wall in the back yard. I did get Hannah and Brooklyn's room painted before Brooklyn was born but that was about as far as I got. Now that I am use to the craziness of seven kids, I am ready to decorate. My top two projects- the girl's room and Master bedroom.

This is what my nightstand looks like. Peyton's Cub Scout application, he turned 8 in February. Sight word, multiplication, addition and subtraction flash cards. My books that I am either reading alone or with Chad and of course wipes. And yes, I have finally figured out why I am fat. If you are sick of diet books and want something different, than this book is for you. I will let you know more on that later.

Logan finally got his Cars backpack

I love that these two are becoming best buddies, want a bite Brooklyn?

I love pictures that tell a story

I love Pottery Barn Kids and creative people on the internet that show you how to copy their ideas. These flowers were so much fun to make and Brooklyn loves to look at them, she loves anything girly.
I need to buy bigger letters, now I just need Hobby Lobby to put them on sale.

My room started out green like the rest of the house but after I bought this chair it quickly changed. Originally the chair was for Whit's room but it clashed with her wall color, so now it is mine. After going to the Village Quilt Shoppe last summer in Utah and seeing the "all white bed " I was in love. But I felt guilty changing my room when it was already decorated. Then I found the wall color, Benjamin Moore's "smoke". I was in love and knew the chair would go perfectly and so would the all white bed.  I finally bought the comforter set and dust ruffle, now I can't wait to find fun throw pillows for it.

I had to switch out the reds, greens and plums with white, creams and silver. Next thing to tackle - Chad's night stand.
